Day 1: A Good Start

Day one went pretty good and I’m pretty happy so far, I am making small changes to get the flub off. No more late night snacks, eat smaller portions, make better food choices and start moving my massive self again. I have challenged my Mom to lose weight with me and get healthy, we want to be able to do more and live better lives and be healthy so we are doing it together 🙂 Here is my first walking vlog to my Madre: #StayAccountable #GetFit #LiveRight

Day 2: Tired but doing good

It’s day 2 and I did pretty well on the food front. I had a cajun roast beef sandwich (The spice burns fat too 🙂 ) and a hamburger with a little bake beans and cold slaw for dinner. As a snack, I got me some jacklinks beef jerky (No fat snack of champions) and I loaded up on water throughout the day.

Got my walk in at Walmart running errands, Madre got her walk in today too so we are off to the races – fat your ain’t no match for us!

Oh YES, We have Hit Day 5 – Walking to Drop 70lbs

So I can say that today was indeed a good day. What normally would have been a lazy Saturday in the recliner, as was my custom almost every weekend, turned out to be a fruitful and busy day. Had Frisco breakfast sandwich from Metro Diner this AM – It is a ham, egg and cheese deal on sourdough, very good, I only ate half and then had a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. In case you have tried either I would highly recommend as they are very tasty combination sure to satisfy any appetite 🙂

After Breakfast, I got me a shave and a haircut, gotta look good for church tomorrow. I am finding that since I have started moving every day for extended periods, longer than just going from the recliner to the kitchen or that can, I have more energy and already have started feeling better. I decided to capitalize on some of this new found energy and did some much-needed cleaning and organizing of my gear, needless to say my room is quite hospitable now 🙂

Just got to keep this up and I know the pounds will fall off! Really looking forward to doing a time-lapse video over the next few months and watch the fat literally melt away 🙂

Until tomorrow folks, blessings be upon you and God go with you.

Setting my Goal 45 minutes of Walking

Today was a good day, this is my third start to my goal to lose 70 pounds, but I am not fretting and embracing the process. Met my walking goal today with ten minutes of walking being my next goal tomorrow. I do want to lose the weight but my primary goal is to get physically fit enough to walk 45 minutes at a time because we are going on a riverboat cruise in Europe and I have to be able to keep up with the tour group, going to be lots to see and I don’t want to miss out! Wanted to give a special shout-out to our good friends John and Cheryl Roberts who came to visit us this past weekend, we really enjoyed spending time with you we hope you have an Awesome rest of your trip, we are blessed to know you, you two are the best 🙂
Oh and we already ordered the new security cam and are looking forward to playing with that baby, now we will almost be as cool as you PizzaMan…almost 🙂 Next time we can make some authentic Joe’s New York Pizza at the house, brace yourselves…I am learning to cook, heaven help the those who dare to eat it 🙂

Moving and having fun with my new toy

Well, folks, today marks day 2 of the weight loss restart journey and I’m off with a bang. Just got my new toy today, the apple watch series 3 and it totally kicks ass.

Special thanks to Cheryl for telling me about the lose it app, I Love it! I put in my weight loss goal and according to the app I can meet or beat my goal of losing 30 pounds by August 18, 2018!! I am so stoked! I logged my calories for today with what I thought was going to be a whole hell of a lot and I only hit 70% of my daily allotment!

The Apple watch is great as I can track my workouts and general movements with all kinds of cool stats, I walked 10 minutes without stopping a steady pace tonight so I am already at 25% of my goal and I have got 4 months to shrink this big booty… I am just coming to the realization that I can not only do this, I think I can really kick it in the butt and lose this weight faster than I first thought, I am excited! I weighed in at the doctor today at 243, down 5 pounds from where I was when I first started this journey.

Thank you, John, Cheryl and Jason, Rachie, Lori, Momma and Pops for encouraging me and pushing me to get off my duff 🙂

Signing off, Remember, get active and Stay Attractive 🙂

Made Dinner for the first time in a Long time…Family affair!

Well, today was a great day, I did get a bit of a late start, but I did accomplish what I set out to do today. We decided to give HelloFresh.com a try since I wanted to start helping my Grandma cook. So today all the ingredients for our next 3 meals came in a great big box, each meal had its own bag of stuff, with the cold items like meat in the bottom, all of it wrapped in a layer of insulation.

The three meals this week include pork grilled cheese sammiches with cucumber tomato salad, Italian orzo, and meatloaf and mash with green beans. Tonight we opted for the Italian Orzo and it was delicious, it’s basically Italian sausage, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, chicken stock, mozzarella cheese, water, salt and pepper, and Italian seasoning, all simmered in a pan and then covered with panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese, and then set under the broiler for 4 minutes until golden brown. Grandma and I cooked together for the first time in a long time and it was fun 🙂 It really turned out well and we have leftovers, W00t! So far, I would say if you like to try new things for meal time and you can afford about $110/week, HelloFresh.com is a great option, you don’t have to spend time at the grocery as everything is portioned out for only what you need.

Almost met my movement goal today, will have to kick it into high gear tomorrow, calorie intake looking good 🙂 Until the morrow, remember, get active and stay Attractive! 🙂
